I have always dreamed of becoming an author—primarily—a New York Times Best Selling Author, but one of the main phrases I have always been told is: You should go into business or finances. Something useful in today’s workforce that brings in a stable and high amount of income.

But I just want to write…

I want my voice to be heard.

I want readers to be blown away by my stories and share their love for my work with others.

But, according to society, that’s not a real goal.

According to family, I should focus on a career path that offers a little more “security.”

According to close friends, reading and writing is consuming my life.

But… I want to be an author.

So, I ignore all of the critics of my life choices, and I became an independently published author, and I finally see my work printed.

So, I begin to network.

I share my accomplishment with other groups through social media.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Your post has been removed because we don’t allow you to promote your own books.” Sooooo…. Your group was developed to help authors become successful, but you won’t allow me to share my novels? You should just say: “We want to help you become better writers, but not better than us.”

Why are we always in competition with each other?

Why do we degrade each other’s goals and dreams?

I say enough!

Us authors just want to write and share our stories with the world…

So, let us write and let us share…

With that being said, feel free to share links to your sites, books, blogs, etc.! And please, share your thoughts!

Thanks for reading!

Until next time....
